New Chairman for Charity

unanimously voted in...

Honda Hall of Famer David Watkins has been confirmed as the new Chairman of the Welsh Rugby International Players Benevolent Association.

Following the decision by Former Chairman Peter Thomas to resign, the trustees put together a shortlist to replace him, which David Watkins was seen as the preferred choice and was unanimously voted in during the last meeting on the 20th of July.

In his post rugby days, Dai has been Player/Coach/Director of the Cardiff RL as well as manager and Chairman of Newport RFC, he is currently President of the Club.

The Charity has already earmarked the next batch of players who they hope will benefit form support form the Organisation - however they are continually looking for players to support, so all nominations should be forwarded to the WREX offices.

Former Chairman Peter Thomas was the original driving force in the creation of the Charity and its succes to date. Peter will remain with the Charity as a trustee.
